Abstract

In this issue, students will learn about the concept of Aliyah. They will understand why immigration to Israel is called “Aliyah” and the word’s origin.
Students will also learn about some of the largest and most important mass Aliot (immigrations) to Israel.
Students will learn about the concept of “pilgrimage” during the Temple period and the mitzvah associated with it.
They will also learn about immigrant communities who made Aliyah.
They will learn about the history of how the IDF recruited Jews from the Diaspora.
They will understand the meaning of  Kibbutz Galuyot and how it contributed to Israel’s diversity as a nation in general and in the army in particular.
