Abstract

What was life like for Jews living in the Ottoman empire? When and why did  Jews migrate to those lands? When and why did they emigrate from there?

This resource explores the backgrounds, traditions, challenges and accomplishments of the many different communities of Jews who lived in the Ottoman empire. 2. know the reasons why Jews settled in the Ottoman empire, as well as some of the unique characteristics and legacies of some of the Jewish communities established there.
